REMEMBER 30-60 CPM FOR BETA IS NORMAL. 3X Background is health concern. The EPA requires emergency responders to automatically take protective action at 300CPM beta.

Phoenix is up at almost 200 beta (did the jet stream move south?)

Sacramento was up at 300 beta

Des Moines has been high, ranging between 100 and 400 beta (same for all Iowa cities reporting)

Idaho Falls and Indiana cities have followed the same pattern roughly ranging between 100 and 400 beta

Spokane WA is bumping up and down around 250 beta

Harrisonburg VA has dropped from an Aug 18 high of around 750 beta to around 200 beta the last couple of days

Amarillo TX is at about 150 down from 550 but it has a pattern of spiking up so we will have to watch it to see if levels resume their upward peaks

Rapid City SD stopped reporting, probably because it has such high levels recently, but Pierre SD is and it is currently at just under 350 beta

Pittsburgh is down from its high of around 400 beta to around 50 but it could spike up today if it follows the pattern

Toledo Ohio has been oscillating between 100 and 450 beta since Aug 18

Carlsbad NM ranging between 250 and 500 beta

Looks like Omaha NE stopped reporting after a 400 beta high around Aug 18

THESE LEVELS ARE NOT NORMAL AND POSE LONG-TERM INCREASED RISKS FOR CANCER AND OTHER HEALTH CONCERNS

  1. I check the jet stream here, with realtime updates. http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/2xJetStream.html

Have seen no Radnet bumps for jet stream at Seattle, which does not seem realistic to me. Spokane of course spikes all over the place, but then Hanford has radioactive jackrabbits ...
