Emissions Down Again Today

  1. After four years of researching the situation in Fukushima, largely through the Internet, though I have spoken with persons who have relatives in Japan, I conclude that the position now occupied by Climate Change should be occupied by Radiation Contamination or to simplify by Fukushima. The earth survived the ice age! and remained inhabitable. But it can only handle so much nuclear radiation. This is obvious but has failed to get much attention from the International Community. And the failed gov of Ukraine is likely to bring about a melt down at some point. I have also read that it has nuclear waste stored near the war zone. Another melt down is inevitable somewhere. I wonder if anyone has figured out just what the carrying capacity of the planet is for nuclear contamination? In the past nations and people have been able to ignore problems, suffered the consequences and gone on after disastrous times. This problem is different. Instead of rising oceans, etc. we need charts showing rising cancer rates, genetic mutation, etc. Interesting human characteristic is to project the mind on to a simpler problem in order to repress the more dangerous one. War has been a favourite but doesn't work well any more as a solution to economic problems.
The ability to end life on this planet has only existed for about 70 or so years now. This knowledge has not really permeated the collective unconscious. What is there is the memories of former catastrophes which did not destroy the earth's habitability. And these are now misleadingly optimistic.
