Mt Aso Erupts on Island of Kyushu

[excerpted] Mount Aso, a volcano on Japan's main southern island of Kyushu, erupted early on Saturday, Japan's Meteorological Agency said, spewing volcanic ash 11,000 meters (7 miles) into the sky.Japanese media said there were no immediate reports of injuries from the eruption, which began at 1:46 a.m. local time (1646 GMT Friday) on one of the peaks of the 1,592-metre (5,222 feet) mountain in Kumamoto Prefecture, the agency said.

  1. Abe has to be one of the worse Japanese leaders in history. First there Fukushima catastrophe from a massive earthquake/tsunami that caused meltdowns of npps with emergency generators in their basements, of all places! Now abe re opened an npp on kysuhu where there have been thousands of eqs in the past few months. Now there is an eruption.
